The Gui for Preferences of Themes, Backgrounds, Fonts, Interface, is now all integrated in one : gnome-appearance-properties.
When I right-clicked an empty spot on my desktop and selected “Change Desktop Background” I saw This:
An all new Preferences Suite with the Background Tab opened.
A new way of setting preferences in Gnome, and with the tabs I selected and checked the possibilities of this new “Preferences Suite”.
Here are some screenshots:
System > Preferences > Appearance.
When you select the “Customize” button you can set up:
Customize Controls.
Customize Window Border.
Customize your Cursor, resizing of cursor is seemless.
The other tabs of gnome-appearance-properties include:
Set up fonts.
Set up Desktop Effects.Gutsy gibbon is still in development, I also saw this 🙂

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 gutsy gibbon…
trying to change my desktop background by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting “change desktop background” I get the “appearance preferences” menu and my CPU immediately goes to 100% utilization and I can switch between the 4 desktop backgrounds BUT nothing else works i.e. Theme/Fonts/Interfaces/VisualEffects menu items are not accessible and the STYLE & COLORS buttons don’t work either???
Is this a bug and has it been fixed???
