I had to run ffmpeg today to convert some avi files to mpeg,and wanted to play some music at the same time.
Since ffmpeg uses a lot of resources I need a player that uses about zero resources, to keep ffmpeg running at a fair clip.
Good old faithfull XMMS came to my rescue. it uses virtually no resources and looks great on my desktop.
