Red Hat Inc. to Develop Software in The Czech Republic

Red Hat Inc, a leading provider of the open source Linux operating system and services, is opening a research and development center in the Czech Republic, an agency said Tuesday.

The government-sponsored CzechInvest agency said in a statement that Red Hat, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, plans to invest $1.69 million in the center, located in the southeastern city of Brno, 125 miles southeast of Prague.

The company will employ more than 200 software developers at the center, the statement said.
