EU study says open source could increase competitiveness

Increased use of free and open source software in Europe could increase the region’s competitiveness with the US, according to a European Commission study.

The FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) survey was financed by the European Commission’s Information Society Technologies program and has found that open source provides Europe with an opportunity to improve itself.
