Howto: Add File Browser (Nautilus) to your panel in Ubuntu6.10 (edgy)

Filed under: Tuxicity, Ubuntu — tuxicity @ 3:34 pm

One of my greatest annoyances is that after a default Ubuntu install
I cannot add Nautilus from the Menu Bar to the panel!

There is a “Places” bar including “Home Folder”, but when I right-click it it simply opens Nautilus, so its impossible to add it to my panel that way.
Nautilus happens to be unflagged, for whatever reason, in the Accessories section of Alacarte.

The fix:

Right click Applications on the Menu Bar in your panel,
Select Edit Menus
Alacarte opens now, continuing…..
In the Applications section of Alacarte select Accessories,
Now in the Items section of Alacarte you can see “File Browser” ,
Flag “File Browser” and close Alacarte

Back to Menu Bar:

Select : Applications > Accessories and right click File Browser and select Add to Panel

Nautilus is now added to my panel. 🙂
