Linux Advocacy – How NOT to

Filed under: linux, Tuxicity — tuxicity @ 2:12 pm

Yesterday, on a friendly forum someone started a thread about switching from Windows to Linux.

The thread started out friendly and positive.

My wife is also active in that forum, is happy with Ubuntu and lets the forum know how much she likes it, brags a bit about me being the “Linux expert in the household” and even linking my blog to the forum.

Then a prime example of a Linux-extremist pops in…..

He starts with a statement he tried to set up a Linux community , but got flamed….
Then he starts telling people to use vmware; “dual boot is gay” he states…….

People start reacting to his opinionated posts…..

Anyway, I ended up becoming a member of the forum just to tel this kid to stop his disrespectful behavior to my wife.

The reason I am posting this in this blog is to show how one person can single handily turn of people from Linux.

Read: A classic “Linux advocacy How not To” thread.
