Windows wannabe on Linux? Try Autopackage

Filed under: Kubuntu, linux, Tuxicity, Ubuntu — tuxicity @ 7:51 am

Ths morning I checked for new packages on Distrowatch and noticed there was a new version of Inkscape out.

There were only sources and a .package available.
Not in the mood for compiling I decided to give the .package file of inkscape a try.

Boy was I amazed!

I went to the Autopackage website to find out how install an autopackage.

Simply follow the directions , let Autopackage install the needed files to make autopackaging work and simply let it ride.

No need to be root, install is local and fully functional, icons simply appear on the menu.

Installing Inkscape0.45 with Autopackage made me feel like a Windows wannabee on linux.

This install was preformed on an Ubuntu 6.10 box
