Automatix, A poor attempt to make life easy?

Filed under: Debian, Kubuntu, Tuxicity, Ubuntu, xubuntu — tuxicity @ 4:55 pm

Many Ubuntu users like Automatix, but was never a fan myself, because I heard some bad stories.

I never used it, and advised people not to use it, telling them its a poorly made package and it might break your system.

I am not technical enough to give a inside information about Automatix, but luckily Matthew Garrett is, and gives a nice explanation about some the risks and weaknesses of Automatix.

So if you think of using Automatix for Ubuntu or Debian Etch , read it first.
